1. THE PROMOTER
1.1 This promotion is operated by WorldRemit Corp t/a Sendwave ("Sendwave", "we", "us"), in connection with the Miss República Dominicana Universo 2026 voting activation run by the Miss Dominican Republic Universe Organization (Inversiones Carani, S.R.L.) (the "Organizer"). The selection of any contestant for the Top 10 is determined and administered by the Organizer; Sendwave provides the voting mechanism only.
1.2 WorldRemit Corp t/aSendwave is licensed as a Money Transmitter by the New York State Department of Financial Services and in Puerto Rico (TM-055), a Foreign Transmittal Agency in Massachusetts, and a Currency Transmitter in Rhode Island. NMLS No. 1179663.
2. PROMOTION PERIOD
2.1 The voting period runs from 1 July 2026 to midnight 29 July 2026 EST (the "Voting Period"). Votes recorded outside the Voting Period will not be counted. The final gala takes place on 30 July 2026.
3. ELIGIBILITY
3.1 Open to individuals who are of the age of majority in their country of residence and who hold or open a valid Sendwave account (for voting by transfer), subject to Sendwave's standard Terms & Conditions (sendwave.com/terms-and-conditions) and Privacy Policy (sendwave.com/privacy-policy).
3.2 Voting via a Sendwave transfer is available only on transfers sent to the Dominican Republic from the following countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, and Ireland.
3.3 Voting by the online voting form is limited to people not residing in a Sendwave sending country (i.e., not resident in a country listed in clause 3.2). One vote can be obtained per person per successful completion of the entry form.
3.4 Employees of Sendwave (Zepz Group), the Organizer, MHP Marketing Inc., and their immediate families are not eligible to vote.
4. HOW TO VOTE (VIA SENDWAVE)
4.1 During the Voting Period: (a) send money to a recipient in the Dominican Republic using the Sendwave app; and (b) enter "MISSRD" plus your chosen contestant's first and last name in the transaction note field.
4.2 Each completed, valid transaction equals one (1) vote for the named contestant. There is no limit on the number of times an eligible user may vote, provided each vote corresponds to a separate completed transaction.
4.3 A transaction is "valid" only if it is fully completed and not subsequently cancelled, reversed, refunded, or charged back. Incomplete, pending, cancelled, reversed, or refunded transactions will not be counted. A vote will only be attributed where the contestant's name is entered legibly and identifiably in the note field; Sendwave and the Organizer are not responsible for misspelled, ambiguous, or unidentifiable entries.
5. PROMO CODE "MISSRD" (NEW CUSTOMERS)
5.1 New customers who have not previously completed a transfer with Sendwave may apply promo code MISSRD to receive 20 USD / 20 CAD / 10 GBP / 10 EUR off their first transfer, in the currency of the sending country. To receive the full discount, the customer must send a minimum amount equal to the promo code amount.
5.2 The promo code is valid until 30 September 2026, is limited to one use per customer, applies to first transfers only, cannot be combined with other offers, and applies only to transfers sent from the countries listed in clause 3.2 to the Dominican Republic. Standard Sendwave first-transfer promo terms apply.
5.3 Use of the promo code does not by itself constitute a vote; the steps in clause 4.1 must be completed.
6. ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF ENTRY — ONLINE VOTING FORM (NO PURCHASE NECESSARY)
6.1 No purchase or money transfer is necessary to take part. During the Voting Period, an eligible person (per clause 3.3) may cast one (1) free vote by completing the official online voting form at sendwave.com/missrd.
6.2 The form requires the following information:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Country of residency
- Favourite contestant's full name
6.3 One vote may be obtained per person per successful completion of the entry form. Entries that are incomplete, illegible, duplicated, submitted by a resident of a Sendwave sending country (clause 3.2), or that contain an unidentifiable contestant name will not be counted.
6.4 A free vote via the online form and a transfer-based vote (clause 4) are each counted as one (1) vote toward the result.
7. RESULT AND PRIZE
7.1 At the close of the Voting Period, the contestant who has received the highest number of valid votes (combining clauses 4 and 6) will be recognised as the "Sendwave People's Choice" and, per the arrangement between Sendwave and the Organizer, will be awarded a guaranteed place in the Top 10 of Miss República Dominicana Universo 2026.
7.2 The determination, verification, and announcement of votes and of the Top 10 placement are administered by the Organizer. The result is final.
7.3 Any voting result for a contestant that is subject to a tie-break will be at the discretion of Sendwave.
8. NATURE OF TRANSFERS; NO REFUNDS
8.1 All transfers made in connection with this promotion are standard money remittances and are provided to deliver funds to your recipient. They are not entry fees or payments to Sendwave for votes.
8.2 No refunds will be issued on the basis that a chosen contestant does not advance to, or place in, the Top 10, or on the basis of the promotion's outcome. Standard Sendwave cancellation/refund terms apply to the transfer itself.
9. FEES AND EXCHANGE RATES
9.1 Exchange rates are subject to change. Sendwave makes money from the exchange rate. Applicable fees and rates are shown in the app before you confirm a transfer.
10. DATA AND PRIVACY
10.1 Personal data (including contestant names entered in note fields, and aggregate voting data) is processed in accordance with the Sendwave Privacy Policy (sendwave.com/privacy-policy) and may be shared with the Organizer for the purpose of administering and announcing the result.
11. GENERAL
11.1 Sendwave may amend, suspend, or withdraw this promotion, or these terms, where reasonably necessary (including for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons), giving notice where practicable.
11.2 Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, Sendwave is not liable for matters outside its reasonable control, including the conduct of the pageant or the Organizer's determination of results.
11.3 Standard Sendwave Terms & Conditions apply to all transfers and accounts.
11.4 This promotion is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without giving effect to its “conflicts of laws” principles that might require the application of the law of another jurisdiction.
