Accepted documents
1. Why do you need a document from me?
We help move money safely, so sometimes we need to check where your money came from before we send it. Whatever you upload must:
Show all four corners
Show your name clearly
Meet the date requirements as shown below
Ensure the document is not blurry
2. What kind of document should I upload or provide a screenshot of, and what should it show?
Upload a document from the list below.
Document Type | Minimum Requirements |
|---|---|
Bank statement | Your name and current residential Address A full month’s statement with date (within the last 3 months) Your bank's name The deposit or incoming payment showing where your source of funds came from (e.g. salary) If you’re self-employed, this can be your business bank statement |
Payslip including | The full document Your name Your employer's full name Your gross/net pay Pay date (within the last 3 months) |
Loan agreement | The full document (include purpose of the loan) Your name The lender's name The loan amount covering the amount in question Terms of the loan Signature and the date the agreement was signed |
Tax document | Your name The income from an official tax statement or receipt. A date (most recent tax year) |
Quick tip: your document has to match what you told us. If you said your money came from your salary, we need to see salary payments from your employer — not something else.
3. My money came from something not listed above — what should I send?
Choose "Other" and upload a document that clearly shows:
Your name
How you received the money
The amount received
A brief explanation of where the money came from
Examples could include:
Inheritance – a will/probate paper, plus a bank statement showing the money received.
Pension, redundancy, or benefits – a bank statement or letter showing the payment.
Dividends or director's fees – a bank statement showing the payment.
Sold a car or vehicle – the bill of sale, plus a bank statement showing the money arriving.
Proceeds of sale documents - sale information, plus a bank statement showing the money received.
Proof of investments - proceeds of the investment, plus bank statement showing money moving from the brokerage account to the account used for your transfers.
4. My document was rejected — why?
The most common reasons are:
The name, address or deposit wasn't visible
The document wasn’t recent enough
The name didn't match your Sendwave account
All necessary pages weren’t included
All corners weren’t visible
Document was password protected
5. Do I need to send every page?
Just one complete month is enough. But that month must be whole and uncut, showing your name, address, bank, date, and the money coming in.
6. What if I'm sending from my savings?
Send one full month's saving accounts statement (from the last 3 months) with your name, address, and enough balance to cover what you plan to send.
7. What if the document isn't in my name, or it's a joint account?
That's okay! A joint account works if your name is on it. If the money came from someone else, we'll just need a document showing how you're connected to them. If your name looks a little different (like a nickname), just let us know why.
8. Why are you asking about my recipient or a specific payment?
Sometimes we ask extra questions about who you're sending to, or about one certain payment, just to make sure everything matches up and stays safe.
